Took my Savage 12 .223 to the range today. I had recently had the scope off (Nikon Monarch 2.5-10X50) and just put it back on a couple of nights ago, figured it would be off a little, so I decided to zero at 100 yds., put it in the Lead Sled and it wasn't that far out, 1 click down and then 2 clicks right and then it shot a pretty nice 5 shot group(lower right on the target). I was shooting factory Hornady 55gr FMJ. I then took it to the 200 yd. range and fired it from the bench using a front rest only(about 25 rounds, center target). I was using the BDC reticule on the scope for the first time, and I guess it seems to work as advertised. It was a good day! Gun likes a little heavier bullet, I will work on building some 69gr. Sierras soon. Until then, skinny prairie dogs stand a little better chance than the fat ones!
