A new family member found it`s way into my gun safe. A Sauer Western Six Shooter in .357 Magnum, made by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in Western Germany. Birthyear, according to the date code GK, should be 1968/1969. As you can see on the pictures, it`s in very good, if not even almost new condition. A larger amount of the company J.P. Sauer & Sohn is now Sig Sauer, that now only produce semi automatic handguns. I talked to a guy at Sig Sauer in Eckernförde and he actually stated, that the western Sixshooter was the last revolvers they had produced, before switching to pistols. I`ve taken the revolver to the range and it shoots very nice. I just have to do something about the sights. Although they are adjustable, I am hitting low. But I will wait, since this is my first revolver I own and I want to get used to it first. But it`s a real beauty, I find.
