Our sentinels at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier will remain on duty during Sandy. As they have since 1948. Makes ya proud!

I read somewhere that only one time in the history of the Tomb the soldiers were told they could stand down because of some seriously bad weather. Not one of them did.

Marines are too proud to let our fallen brothers and sisters be alone.

Don't want to bust your bubble, but the tomb is an army job. I'm sure Marines have guarded it on occasion, but it's their burden, not ours.

I think the duty is shared by all branches if I remember right. Could be wrong, I'll look it up.

Army is the only branch to my knowledge. 3rd US Infantry Regiment

A couple interesting facts from that page.
