This is a pre-Garcia Sako Finnbear Deluxe L61R in 300 Winchester Mag. It was manufactured in the 1960's and is in new unfired condition. The scope is a vintage 3x9 Redfield. I have shot a couple of other Sakos and loved them, but never got around to shooting this one. I can't say for sure if I've been around any other unfired Sakos that are 50 years old, but I'd prefer leaving this one alone along with a few other safe queens I have. It is tempting though. I have a few old Redfields and feel that they are some of the best scopes ever made and I've used them on my other hunting rifles and love them. I know they are currently manufacturing them again, but have no idea how good they are. Sakos have a great reputation and the Fins have made a hell of a fine gun over the years. I really like the 300wm and have a lot of respect for that round. There's no game in North America that it can't take down, especially when fired in a Sako.
