I was wondering if you have to blow out the oil in the gas block like a M4 since the saiga has a gas piston? If so, what's the best thing use?

I'm curious as to why you'd blow out oil in the gas block of an AR/M4. I have never heard anyone mention doing that.

My buddy blows it out with a tube after he cleans and oils the barrel on his M4. He says that if oil gets in and on your gas piston while firing it will blow up. I'm not for sure if he's a little crazy or if there's some truth behind it but I'm new to ak's and AR type rifles and it kinda freaked me out when I heard this. So is it ok if a little oil gets inside were the gases go up and drive the piston back? Everywhere I look online about this nothing comes up and my saiga manual dosen't say anything either.

I'd say the gun wouldn't cycle a new round, not blow up.

Vash. I have had 2 Saigas (308 & 556) multiple AKs, a VZ58, and 1 piston AR. Not saying anyone is right or wrong but I have never even thought about them blowing up due to some oil or lube getting in the gas block or tube. Maybe I am being reckless.
