can you shoot sabot slugs out of an unrifled barrel that is un choked? if so i assume accuracy is bad.

You'll hit SOMETHING at 25 yds.

    Rifled slugs, SMOOTHBORE bbl

My question is why? When a box of sabots cost 16 bucks for 5 and accuracy sucks what's the point? Your just pissing away money. Buy the cheap 1 oz slugs for smoothbore

Don't listen to them. The sabots work just fine from a smooth bore...at 5 yards :)

You can shoot just fine with a smooth bore barrel. Yes, accuracy won't be as good as a rifled barrel but it should be pretty accurate, that bead on the barrel is set up for a 100 yard shot. How far do you want it to go and be accurate?

How good would you say they are through a smoothbore with rifled chokes?

Rifled chokes, is that a thing? And if there are such things out there, I doubt that it would help, the slug would need to start to turn for a while before they get the right spin, a few inches would only barely turn the slug.

Yeah I just found out about them, I dont think i'm going to get it because its going too fast by the time it reaches it for the rifling to affect it

Handloading basic shotgun is pretty easy. Stick to the EXACT receipe and no problem. I started loading shotgun in High School and moved into metallic cartridges in College. Buck shot and slugs are quite a but more specialized than "field" loads.

I cast my own buckshot and slugs and load them with great results, but I had over 25 years total loading experience before I got into the buck/slugs.

A sabot slug out a smoothbore barrel makes no.since because you can get better accuracy out of the cheap rifled slugs...you can shoot rifled slugs out of a rifled barrel and still get pretty decent accuracy but if you find a good barrel slug combo with a rifled barrel and a sabot slug you can be accurate out to 200 yards....yes rifled choke tubes do help some but before I spent the money on a choke I would just shoot rifled slugs or find a rifled barrel
