So i was at work cleaning up the shop and an old co-worker stops in. We get to bs'ing and he asks me if i'm looking for a 1911. So i respond just bought one but what ya got (always like to see what the offer is because you never know haha). So he tells me he has a buddy(who is apparently a FFL holder) that just ran into a deal where he picked up 5 BNIB SA Mil-spec's, 2 are spoken for but he still has three left so i ask how much. 525.00! The price is right at first glance but i'll be honest i don't know a whole lot about SA other than they have good rep for making decent 1911's. Was not really looking for a gun right now but that price is just soooo tempting. So here's what i'm thinking i could pick one up and if i decide it's not for me could sell/trade it, chances are i could really love it and keep it, or i could pass on it (possibly making a big mistake).

What say you, looking for some honest, no b.s. opinions :) Thanks in advance!

I would take it, SA is a very good weapon. I wouldn't want to be on the business end of any SA, they will clean out the center of a target easy. You are right, they have an excellent reputation.

I have a SA 1911 loaded, which is such a fine pistol and my first 1911. I'm in love with it. Never jams! Never failed! I am thinking of getting a mil spec also, I'll buy it from you if u don't like it NO BS

This is what I am saving for next, it almost perfect. No FSS, has fixed night sights, 4" bull barrel, full size grip, beavertail, adjustable trigger, light weight alloy frame, and extended safety and slide release. I wish it cerakoted and had G10 grips, but those things can be changed pretty easy.

Nice gun, that is great idea. I wanna do something to my loaded and that looks like a good idea. I might convert my loaded to 460 Rowland, awesome ballistics. That round would make big foot crap himself.

The SA Mil Spec was my first 1911. You can't go wrong at that price and it's a rock solid pistol.
