I finally picked up my first 1911. A nearly new Parked SA Loaded for $699 from a local shop.

I have put about 200 rounds through this beauty and it performs! It can easily outshoot my capabilities. The 1911 bug has bitten me hard, as I am now looking for a LW Champion Operator (know where I can get one????).

Only Pic I have thus far. Already ordered a few new parts (Flat Trigger, SS Barrel Bushing and Spring plug).

Thank you Chad. I beleive I actaully have the NM model (e.g., Brazil assembeled??).

I will take some photos during my next range outing to share. Picked up 500 rds. of PMC at a local gun show that should keep me busy.

Please feel free to share any info! Always open to learning more.

Hmmmmm! I see your barrel bushing is black.. And I thought I slightly saw " brazil imbel " on the side of the frame. That would mean it's an N series. Double check and let me know, I am soo interested!

NM = enough parts finish machined or installed in the US to meet import standards to qualify for stamping "made in the USA". it does not stand for national match when it comes to SA 1911s

N = completely finished in brazil.

all frames and slides are fabricated in brazil, some are shipped partially finished to the US plant. there is no difference in quality as the steel used at the imbrel plant is generally better than what US makers use. the machinery used to make the slides frames and parts are all colt machinery sold to the brazillian imbrel plant sometime after ww1.

springfield is only a hair slightly second to colt in quality as SA uses like 1 or 2 more MIM parts than colt does. colt uses the least MIM of all the sub 1500$ 1911 makers.

I don't remember having any mim parts on my sa1911 loaded, also the slide To frame is tighter on the NM than the N. I tried both multiple times. And Springfield armory told me that all frames are from brazil IMBEL but more than 50 percent is put together in the US for NM and the opposite for N. they too have told me that the slide to frame has a different feeling.

I have a SA loaded N series and a SA mc operator NM, and the truth is my less expensive N series is easily tighter than my NM. My loaded is actually tighter slide to frame fit than any of my Colts, Kimbers, Para Ordinance, or other SAs. my loaded easily has over 2,000 rounds threw it and it is still tighter than my brand new MC Operator with 600 rounds threw it.

In fact my loaded actually came with a air gauged stainless barrel and it shoots on par with my MC operator and Colts.

Air gauged stainless barrel? wonder if mine is like that. But I know it's dead on! Loooove it. Also love springfields customer service, they offered to pay for my shipping anytime I have an issue! Thats like saving 70 dollars!

My mistake, it is an "N" model and does have a made in brazil stamp. I had a brain fart and thought the "NM" marking was for brazil assembled for some reason.

    You did REALLY well!
I have the exact same gun as you & I paid $100 more than you did.

Also, I have changed my bushing out & I want to change out to a flat trigger as well (will be my next mod). Where did you order your bushing & trigger from?

Thank you. Funny thing is I wasn't planning on purchasing a gun that day. I was going to pick up a holster and some how the 1911 came home with me :)

I ordered the Springfield SS Barrel Bushing, Ed Brown SS Recoil Spring Plug, and a Caspian Trik Flat Trigger from MidwayUSA. It should be arriving Wed. and hopefully be installed this weeked. I will be sure to post update pictures.
