Strain Screw

Never use the strain screw to lower the trigger pull. You will not get a consistant pull. The screw will tend to walk around. You need 3.75 # of mainspring tension to reliably touch off a magnum load, 3.5 # for a standard load.
A good action job will give a smooth, light feeling trigger with out compromising relability.

The strain screw is not an adjustment screw. It is supposed to be bottomed tightly in the frame.
