Ran into a used one today that was a police trade in. 4" barrel and original wood grips. Absolutely flawless and didn't appear to be hardly shot. This would be from a very small town police dept. Probably lived in its holster its whole life.

I picked up a .44mag a couple weeks ago and I was torn between that caliber and the .357mag. They have $450 on it and since I have only done a little ammo business there, the price is probably firm. Gunbroker has a few going for a bit more. Would most of you consider this a good price?

At any other time I would think that price to be just a little bit high. I have often seen M19s and M66s go for between $350 and $400.

In today's fear-based market, that's actually not a bad price. I'd like to find a decent 2.5" M19 or M66 but, the prices are crazy. Every one I have found has been priced between $600 and $700 - which is sheer lunacy.

Depends on what the number after the dash is on the inside of the frame under the crane. Like 66-1, 66-2, etc. The lower the number the higher the general value. If there is no dash number then that is even more valuable.

At $450, that's a really good price. I'd buy 10 of them at that price. Smith collectors love the 19/66 guns.

Around here and on the forums I frequent you are going to drop $450 for a well used 19/66. I was looking for one a few months back and could not find one for less than $500 in very good condition.

It is a 66-2. Haven't made up my mind yet. It would be another caliber to reload for and therefore more expense added to the gun. I went in looking for another .44mag. They have a NIB 29 7.5" and a Ruger SBH 7.5". $800 and $600 respectively. This is the same shop that has the S&W 28 NIB that I started a thread about a few weeks ago.
