I recently inherited my dad's prized .38/.44 Outdoorsman, a tack driver I grew up shooting at paper. Are the +P loads suitable for game as large as hogs and deer?
I see reload info for a 168 grain Keith bullet at +- 900 fps.

Based on your numbers I would fire that 320 fpe would likely get the job done.

The 38/44 was a .38 Special revolver with the frame of a .44. +P, while FAR less powerful than a .357 Magnum, is borderline for hogs (IMHO) but should not hurt that tank of a revolver. Lovely guns, those were.

I have no delusions of Magnumicity! It is very lovely, especially since Dad carved walnut grips to fit his hand. Like a custom rifle stock. Precision accuracy, too. Any idea what CUP it's rated for?
