Just a general question. None of my firearms have rust problems, they're all stored in sack-ups silicone socks which soak up any moisture. I was wondering though, the rear sights of my 1911 are sig night sights and are metal... should i keep them lightly lubricated to make sure they don't get any rust? I remember on my M4, M16, SAM-R, M249 SAW, and any other weapon i used in the marine corps, the first part of a gun to show rust was the iron sights (even though i never used iron sights on anything but the SAW, we used ACOG's & EOTECH's and there was a Leupold on the SAM-R). Any thoughts? or are the sack-ups enough?

I would think you'll be OK-
A little lube on the sites can't hurt anything tho & of course inspection on a can do basis :)
