Rust on a pistol

    Whats the best way to remove rust on a blue pistol?

    A touch up job on the outside? I cut out a small piece of nylon scrub, then rub the spot out using a brass tip. Wipe off with a 90% alcohol soaked patch. Then apply the bluing pencil, wipe again, apply again until happy. You get a lasting repair, great for a working gun, but not a pristine restoration.

    I saw also (just now in another thread) Frog Lube and a sock, but that was only several hrs of moisture exposure...
