I just picked up a Ruger Super Blackhawk (new model) 7.5" barrel, factory wood grips, excellent condition. Here is what sets it apart - gold plated trigger and hammer with the circled machining in the plating, all lettering gold engraved, bronzed trigger group housing that wraps thru the grip to bottom of hammer, bronzed ejector rod and cylinder rod. It also has a ported barrel. I am no expert on Blawkhawks, but have collected a fair number of them, search adds all the time for them and this is the first one of these I have run across. It is at least 20+ years old. no anniversary markings on the barrel. Anyone know the occasion for the embellishments? Thank You.

I wonder if it was someone's personal custom project? I've never seen one with those combination's before. Shoot the heck out of it. :D

Since it has been shot, I am planning on target shooting some with it ( never have shot one with the ported barrel). I also have a bow stand on a high traffic area for whitetails, looks like it is just begging for a Blackhawk packing hunter next rifle season. I guess it will just be a purty shooter for me.:D

For what it's worth, that is an after-market dress up job. VERY NICE! Ruger never used engine-turning on any of their guns that I'm aware of....

Engine-turning is those little sychronized swirls on the side of the hammer & trigger. Very pretty especiallly when gold plated!

Nice Super Blackhawk you have there. Someone went to some trouble customizing it. It's not factory but even nicer.

Thank you for the input and information. As soon as I can get my hands on some ammo, will have some fun with it. I enjoy collecting the Blawkhawk factory series, but will have a lot of fun with a nice shooter. After I got the gun, looking on the net was also under the idea it was some ones custom. Was able to pick it up for the price of a everyday Blawkhawk.
