I just bought a Ruger SR22. I took my new Ruger to the gun range and went to load it and noticed that it almost looks like the ammo bunches up in the magazine, it does not line up evenly. Is it supposed to do that?

    Thanks!

Did not shoot it yet. Did not line up like my browning so I did not shoot it.

It does that because the 22 rim is wider than the case. Any 22 caliber that is in a stacked magazine will do that. The only one that is of any concern is the one on top and as long as that one lines up. you are good to go!

Mine does that too but it shoots like a dream. It will even shoot the "duds" from my friends walther p22 and his old ruger mk I. There great guns.

Here is the report for sputnik1988. I shot about 150 rounds and it worked perfectly! Very impress with how it shot. Out of the 150 rounds, I had one mis-fire, about the 100th round. I am very happy with my purchase of my Ruger SR22. It was worth all the research that I did to purchase the perfect handgun for me.
