ok guys iv been wanting to get one of these ruger mk's for a while now and i think next week im going to start looking around for one to buy. i seen a guy out hunting with a mk2 it had a ten inch barrel on it and i thought it was pretty cool.
my questions is the barrel removable on the mk2 or 3?
id like to buy a 10incher like the one i seen.
also what should i look out for on them? any upgrades or?
also what is the price range for both models used or new?

    thanks for reading

You can change out the entire top end action and all.

The 10" is good for shooting off the bench or supported in some way. It is not conductive of off hand shooting.

You can get Beretta Neos and get the 4.5", 6.5" and 7.5" barrels for it.

For the Ruger I would get the 5.5" or a 6.5" heavy barrel enough weight to help the shakes and not so much weight as to make it difficult to shoot off hand.

I have a 10 inch Bull Barrel Stainless Steel Ruger Mark II. It's a magnificent 22!
I bought this gun for my wife about 25 years ago, and I wouldn't give it up for nothin'. I can put 10 rounds in a dime at 25 yards with it.

I did add Hogue grips and a HAKKO Red Dot sight to it about 5 years ago.

I'm reasonably sure I've put close to 50,000 rounds through it... It is (without a doubt) a bench-rest autoloader, it's surprisingly heavy.

The barrel is not user changeable without proper tools. If you want the longer barrel I'd suggest looking for a mk 2 with that length barrel. I have a mk 2 with the 6 7/8" barrel and it's more accurate than a lot of rifles. try Guns - Online Gun Auction - Guns at GunBroker.com .
