My LCR snubnose (top) chambered for .357; and my recent addition, the LCRx 3" chambered in .38+P.

Unlike the snubbie, the X model has an adjustable rear sight, exposed hammer for double action and a longer handgrip.

I've always felt .357 is a bit too much of a cartridge for these extremely lightweight frames and mostly fired .38's out of my snub LCR. Either way, accuracy is distance dependent. The closer you are to your target, the better.

The X model is still light as a feather, is still concealable enough to fit in your jeans pocket and has a big-revolver feel, without the weight. The .38 round seems much better-suited for the frame. Accuracy is improved with the longer barrel; the longer handgrip gives more control.

If I get in a turf war with the Bloods or the Crips, these are not the guns I would bring. But good enough for EDC in normal environments.

Bloods and crips! How 1980 of you.....lol

But I hear ya. Most encounters would be answered just fine with a good pocket rocket from Ruger. Nice additions!

9mm...38...both good calibers for this light frame.

I have been looking for a deal on an LCR 38 spl. I have an LCR 22lr I got a steal on. I like the looks of the LCRX. I have been carrying my SP101 snub and 28 oz loaded is a little heavy. The 3" is heavier.

IMHO it isn't about firing .357 in these. it's about being able to when there is no other choice.

No argument there. But that little snub frame LCR will buck like a mule with that hot round. And snubs are just not that accurate to begin with unless you're up close and personal.
