After looking at these for awhile I finally bought one of these nifty carbines. I've always been a huge fan of the Enfield No5 MKI (Jungle Carbine) and the Ruger GSR takes that concept to a higher level. If you could only own 1 centerfire rifle the GSR would be an excellent choice. The gun feels great and the fit and finish is excellent. The only thing I did so far was to buy a couple of Rugers new polymer magazines for it which I feel are superior to the original metal one. Anyone looking for a super versatile rifle/carbine should check one of these out, I think you'll be as impressed as I was.

They are running about $750 if you can find one on line. Figure out what your Stag is worth. Ruger has 3, 5 and 10 round mags available If you have a capacity limit when hunting. Burris and Leupold make nice LER scopes. I like the Burris 2.75X Scout. I would have one if there had been one at the gun show.

I paid 1000 for my stag about 2 months ago. The guys got some extras...that Burris scope you mentioned a few mags and that's all I know from the picture. I figure I'll squeeze him a little bit because I know how hard it is to get an AR these days.
