Does anyone have a Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle?
i went with the savage 10fcp-sr. i considered it but there wasnt a good way to mount anything but a pistol scope. my opinion kind of a stupid idea to put the scope mount so far forward so it could also have iron sights. im sure that it appeals to some folks but its not my idea of good gun engineering.
this is it atm:
Ok thank you
Is it bolt action?
I'm not Jon, but yes, it is a bolt action in 308.
The savage comes with a rail threaded barrel bedded stock target style trigger and 10 round detachable box mag.
Alright cool. Thanks.
What did it come with? Was it just the rifle?

Great video! And does a .308 have more of a kick than a 12 gauge?
couldn't say, haven't got to shoot a .308 yet I would say a .30-06 kicks more than a 12 gauge, from what I remember so
depends on the loading and the gun. a super lightweight rifle with a short barrel with a heavy bullet might come close but generally no, much less perceived recoil than a 12 ga
Alright good because the biggest gun that I ever shot was a 12 gauge so that is good news
one thing i would like to add about the "scout rifle" concept is i think it is a very silly and failure of an attempt to re-invent the lever action. cept you end up with a slow gun thats heavier and less capable than a good lever action.
and if you do find that the .308 has more kick that whats comfortable you can always buy a gun with a threaded barrel so you can attach a muzzle brake, or maybe they make barrels for the Ruger that are threaded, that's always an option as well
FYI The scout rifle is bolt action rifle
i know. but the original scout rifle was created over a century ago and is still selling strong.
Oh alright i didn't know that
The Ruger has a threaded barrel with a flash suppressor attached, add your own preference, the kick is mild however, less than my Ithaca 87
And as info...http://xssights.com/ has an extended rail which allows you to equip the GSR with any scope configuration (IER or not).
