I know guys, i lust after more guns than a crackhead in a darkened pawn shop, but i have a few questions about the GP100. It is said to be built to handle a regular diet of .357 magnum. It is my understanding that it will be happy with some .38special for target practice; are there any other alternatives (.38 short?) for target shooting on the cheap? Is $469 a realistic price for the 6" blued model, in your opinion? It is close to the price at Bud's gun shop, oddly close. If the one i'm looking at Saturday has the comfy Hogue grips, what are my chances of picking up some of the older style with the rosewood inset later on (for display)? I notice some of the cheaper .38 special rounds are plain lead/non-jacketed; i haven't used this kind of ammo since long ago & that was .22 rounds. Will it "lead" my barrel up & will the Hoppes cleaner & a good scrubbing clear this up? Any other info on the GP100 would be appreciated if you have a moment. Thanks guys!
