Heres my "set" of Ruger carbines. on top is a 10/22. i got it from a friend, who knew i wanted one, for $25. it was in pretty bad shape. after some cleaning and replacing a few parts, it turned out to shoot great. as a added bonus it seems to be a special edition, the barrel is stamped "Made in the 200th Year of American Liberty" i take it to be a 1976 model?
Underneath is my .44 carbine, looks identical to the 10/22, but holds 4+1 and loads like a shotgun. from what i can tell it was made sometime in the 60's and not for very long.
i see lots of 10/22 but not many of the .44 carbines, so i thought id share.

I had a Ruger .44 carbine and I miss it. Hang on to yours, it's a great piece.

Nice Rugers. Did you do any stock restoration? They look like they're in great shape.

    the .44 is all original.
the 10/22 was covered with a layer of surface rust, i was lucky and it cleaned off with out harming the bluing. replaced some internals. bought some cool looking clear factory 10-rd mags (the old one is pretty worn out). someone over sanded the original stock so it was no longer flush at the magazine. the hardest part was finding a stock that matched the .44, but ended finding one on ebay.

I've always loved those little .44s. Always wanted one. But alas,it wasn't in the stars. Looks like it would be a great brush gun.[IMG]

I had to settle for this. Not too hard to live with.;) Don't mean to turn this into a 10/22 conversation.
