Would like people's opinion on the ruger sp101 .357 magnum!
Please use the "search" up above. Put in Ruger SP101 and you will get a lot of information. It's scattered all over the forum so I can't link you to any particular thread. It gets very good reviews from those who own one.
Thanks I sure will!
I have the SP101. It is built like a tank, and a great shooter. It is heavier than other similar 5 shot revolvers, but that's not a bad thing for a magnum. If it has the stock grips, I recommend you swap them out with a Hogue Monogrip.
Ruger is, in my opinion, the very best revolver there is. One piece construction and a work horse. Treat a Ruger right and your great grandchildren will be shooting it 100 years from now.
^^^^^^ this. I have the sp101 also. This is dead on. Running a box of .357 through it with stock grips will beat you up a bit. Still fun.
Amen!! My grandpa has a ruger super redhawk thats 50+ years old and he can still cloverleaf the target at 100 yards
Thanks to every1 for posting replies! I appreciate every1's opinion! Ive heard good things regarding the ruger sp101 .357. With all that, I'll b purchasing 1.
The gp 100 is better
I agree, I've shot both a good amount and I just plain like 6 shots over 5. If you don't care about capacity as much, then I find nothing wrong with the sp 101.
I have the Gp100 for a range gun, and i carry it sometimes. Me and my wife bought her dad an Sp101 and he carrys his all the time. The Sp101 is a better carry gun because of the weight/size and the Gp100 is better for a range gun because of the weight and size. All depends on what you need the firearm for. Cant go wrong with either.
My opinion is that it's simply........Awesome
Thanks for the feedback, I'll check out the gp100 as well!
Superb tank that can take big grain full power loads if you can...SP101.
Light weight managable recoil pocketable hi tech.....LCR.
I have one I bought used, it was a great purchase. The previous owner had the trigger work and glow dot sights installed along with the hogue grip. It's a great firearm I would recommend it to anyone.
I couldn't wait to get mine. Already had the Hogue grips waiting, but put 100 rounds through it before I got it home. Solid gun. Stock grips are the only weakness in my opinion.
I have a rugar gp100 6 in barrel it is my favorite handgun at the moment it is built like a tank
Nice avatar picture! That's one of Jeff Dunhams puppets right?
