LMT = Lewis Machine Tool. They are a supplier of components to the military, as well as to big name AR manufactures such as Colt. I have yet to handle one so I can give no real opinion on them. The Mall Ninjas over on AR15.com seem to think its just the cats *** though. They are expensive compared to other brands (even Colt), and they will not sell a civilian a complete rifle as of this posting. You would have to buy an upper, lower, and snap them together yourself.

Just curious, whats so wrong with the Olympic arms AR ? I picked one up in .223 a while back and have put several thousand rounds through it so far and have had no trouble with it, at least not yet. Your getting me all worried that my gun is going to fall apart in my hands or something....

For what you probably do with it......nothings wrong with OLY. Take a carbine course however and you will see the difference between a OLY, DPMS, or RRA vs Colt, CMT, LMT, or sometimes Bushmaster.

Dont Blame the Lowers !

Almost anybody makes a decent lower..how its built from there up makes the difference in the quality of parts used.
For a blaster grade AR..you wont see any difference.

LMT and RRA make great hi quality lowers. The tighest spec lowers are from Les Baer...and he charges for that precision machining.

Price is what most folks base their lower purchase on. Quality from their on makes the difference in performance...Mil Spec is 10 shots into 6 inches @ 100 yards. Great for people...bad for prairie dogs !
