On average, how many rounds do you go through during a trip to the range?
Average 150. I just bought new magazines for 2 of my pistols so I'll run a box of 50 through each this time.
Today I ran 54 through my Colt Cobra and 120 through my M&P40, Pro Series. I haven't shot the M&P lately and forgot what a joy it is to shoot.
Sunday I ran 30 through a K98k. Shoulder said that's it, no more.
Depends (yes, that is also an adult undergarment)
If I am on the handgun line, 50-100 rds per handgun.
Small bore rifle? 100-200 rounds
High powered rifle? 50 per rifle, unless I am just there to zero a scope.
Sporting clays? 100 rounds
Muzzle loader? 10-20 rounds
Did I bring lunch? All bets are off.
I am blessed in that my back yard is my range, and I have no idea what my 'average' is! I know I should shoot more than I do though.
it can vary. depends on whether I'm shooting alone, or with others. whether I'm keeping practice, or just plinking.
Since "the range" is my front yard it could be 1,2,3, 50 or 150.
Depends on how much jawing, watching, or shooting I do, any where from 20 to 200 rds !..............
I will also add this, it's not necessarily the quantity of rounds expended, but the quality of the shooting that matters.
Some of my better times at the range are when "older" gentlemen are there... One day a guy sat there and schooled me on Smith and Wesson revolvers, even let me shoot several of his he brought
200-300, mostly 45acp.
My handguns 50-100 and my range is out back. So I shoot a lot..
Some of us are more 'blessed' than others that way. My reloading bench is literally 30 feet from my shooting bench. I look out my window from the reloading bench and see my shooting bench.
It's extremely handy to have my range out back of my shop. I'm continually thankful that I can do repair-work testing, .22 rimfire ammunition eval, velocity recording and customer rifle/scope sight-ins in such a convenient manner.
Most unfortunate aspect...........WINTER!
My current club is a bit of a drive (30 min) so I take more than one item to make it more worth my while.
I usually get a rifle zeroed in about 10 shots. Accuracy testing of reloads.........maybe 20 expended.
Rimfire last weekend I changed scope, tried shooting at different magnifications, zeroed at 25.......then popped clay chunks at the 50 yard bank. Total rounds shot, maybe 40.
Handguns about the same thing.
I did rip a box of 50 from my 1911 a while back. Shot great. As usual. Same gun I've had for a couple decades. Like riding a bike.
50 Handgun and 25 - 50 Rifle. I am more of a precision shooter by nature and past habits.
Used to shoot 100 .44 mags a week (or more) back when I reloaded and components where cheap (in the '90s). Man I miss my 4" and even 6" Smith 629's.
Used to have a club 10 mins from house/work.
Used to shoot couple times a week.
All year long. For years.
Was a lot of fun testing stuff, and having a couple good buds so afflicted.
But they've moved away.
Not fun anymore.
We used to get together and drive to various gunshops over Xmas shutdown............good times.
I usually shoot at least 200-400 rounds of .223/5.56, 100 rounds of 9mm in my HiPoint Carbine, another 50 9mm in pistol, and about 50 in 9x18 pistol.
