I was considering picking up a Rossi/Taurus Circuit Judge .410 and .45 colt. I was wondering If anyone has any input on the gun, good or bad, and if I should even consider getting one.

Personally, I think it is a really neat firearm. If you like cowboy action/style it would be a neat addition to a collection. you may have some difficulty finding 45LC though. I almost picked one up a couple Weeks ago..but ended up with a new handgun instead.

A friend has one, it's a great piece!

Accuracy is good, fit & finish is very good, pretty easy to strip & clean, and it's light enough to schlep around all day in woods.

He's had no problems with it since he got it ~ year-and-a-half ago.

I was also wondering how effective both rounds are for hunting. This would most likely be used for small game but can this gun d the job at 25 yards?

I like a .410 for small game. I live in an area where there are houses around so I am very comfortable using that round to take care of varmints (prefer a 12 ga. But too loud in most cases)....cannot help you with the .45LC ....never had the opportunity to fire the round...yet!

I looked at one awhile back. It felt absolutely wonderful in my hands. The grips and ergonomics on this gun are amazing. I hope to buy one over the summer.

I think 45LC would do fine on deer. You'll probably want wadcutters and a book on tracking, cause that deer is gonna run. It is a pistol cartridge. .410 works well for squirrels, birds, and rabbits, so long as the cone is dense enough at a given distance. You'll need to figure that out when you pattern it.
