Hey guys took the AK and VZ 24 to the range today
they only had a 25 yard rifle range
Both rifles were with open iron sights
For the AK i used some military classic Wolf 124 gr. FMJ and for the VZ 24 surplus 196 gr. FMJ

best 5 shots with the VZ 24

Right on Junho! Glad you had a good time. It almost makes up for me not getting to the range this weekend. I had to choose between shooting and football and usually shooting wins, but not when the Dallas Cowboys are involved. ;)

That's a good first day, but I know you can get better. I noticed your groups are all to the left of center. Did you drift the front sight pin at all to accommodate? If you haven't yet, for God's sake don't use a hammer and punch like some will tell you, get a good front sight combination tool. They work like a charm.

My Romo was grouping to the right of center and after a few adjustments and replacing the front sight the improvements are significant. If you need the links again, let us know.

So when ya gettin' the next one???

Elevation is adjusted by screwing the post in or out. Your elevation looks good though. Windage is adjusted be drifting the round pin beneath the front sight left or right. Just remember that since you're moving the front sight, always move opposite the direction you need to go. (If you want point of impact to move right, drift pin left, same for elevation)

This is the tool you need:
SKS / AK Front sight adjustment tool.

Don't have experience with a red dot on an AK, but I have had success with replacing the front sight post with a KNS precision, duplex, cross-hair post. It is narrower than the original post and is quicker for the eye to adjust for elevation.

I'm gonna try another scope/mount combo, hopefully this weekend (if everything gets here) and as promised will post results along with other AK accessories acquired.
