Checking in from Hilton Head.
Where r u located ? I live in Sea Pines.
I live in Charleston, and a member of the Palmetto Shooting Club in Summerville area. I found that the public shooting ranges anywhere near Charleston like (twin ponds) are dangerous.
I have been muzzle swept many times, plus while down field putting up targets observed people handling and LOADING WEAPONS while people were down range!!
PSC is one of the safest shooting ranges I have ever been on. I was a range master and shooting instructor at the U S Naval Academy at Annapolis years ago. It is the best rifle range set up I have seen anywhere. Up to 800 yards. The rifle range is divide into 100 and 200 yards and then 300 and up.
There are approx 10 pistol shooting bays. Lots of local competition shooting, State, and National shoots.
Fees are only $100 a year, but there is a initial fees. You must be recommend by two members and go before the membership for acceptance. There are other guidelines, but nothing big. Great bunch of folks.
Lots of classes if you want to take them.
Membership is LIMITED AND GETTING CLOSE TO THE LIMIT.
Plus, there are plenty of top notch shooters!!
Best money I have ever spent was joining this club. It may have save my life!!
I'm in Sumter, SC. Originally from Charleston, SC. Apparently when you get married, you have to go where she says...
Nah. It's great up here. I've got access to the Indigo Shooting Club over on 378 between Sumter and Columbia if anyone would ever care to join me for a round or two of skeet.
Good to "meet" you. I live in "Beautiful Downtown Pendleton". One thing people from neighboring states say about marriage and divorce in South Carolina is that "when a SC man and his wife get divorced, they revert back to their status they had before the marriage, that is, they are still brother and sister".
Thanks for the greeting... No brothers and sisters here so I'm good to go.
We're not far from you, in Camden.
You have to excuse those upstate people, they're like West Virginians.
Hey! Great! Come on over to Sumter sometime. We'll head out to the club and I'll treat you to a round of skeet!
My wife and I came over to Camden a few months ago and did some antique shopping. Had a great time. Then we went back for dinner a couple weeks ago and had a pretty good meal at Sam Kendall's.
I definitely like Camden a lot.
Thanks, lots of horses and "old money" in Camden.
Wish some of it was mine.
Next time you're over this way try the Old Armory Steak House.
They serve lunch and dinner, pretty good food.
Hey, I resemble that remark! I live in the Upstate and grew up in WV!
Reminds me of something my ex-girlfriend's dad said to me. They lived on a horse farm in Kentucky. The first time I met him he said, "Welcome to Kentucky. Home of fast women and pretty horses."
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.
Greenville in the houseeee!! New to the forums here too.
Welcome. I think you will enjoy this forum. I have picked up great tips and information.
Welcome! I wish the wife and I was back in SC. Stuck here in OK for a while though.
