    Welcome to the forum!
As Mr. ellwood45c pointed out, there are numerous posts on the RIA.
To sum up, some have been a great investment, others have been POS.

Read Cane's sticky post in the 1911 section. He has some good advice there that should be followed.

As dan said look at the sticky. You can gain a wealth of knowledge on this foroum. Listen to what cane, danf , and many others are saying. They r just sharing the wealth of knowledge they have, and i have found them to be extremley helpful and 99.9 percent correct.

Thanks guys. I have a para ordnance tac four .45 lda 1911 and I love it but I'm having issues with the new mag springs that r in it. I want to say its trying to load to fast or something like that bc I had my first jam the other day, I've been trained on the proper way to shoot these handguns so I can't figure out why it would be doing that to me BTW its a 13 round clip

Does it do it with other mags?

Sounds like a cycle time issue if other mags produce the same issue.

How many rounds down range on the recoil spring?

Yea I changed out the springs on all 4 mags and they r so stiff that I can load all 13 by hand so it only fits 10 so I went back to the old springs and only had one jam but would that be because of the old springs being wore out? And I'm pretty sure the recoil spring is new I know the guide rod is brand new but that will be my next step is to vet a new recoil spring

I bought one 3 months ago and I LOVE it! Never had 1 jam, FTF, or FTE out of 400 rounds and I have shot steel cased Russian crap to JHP.... Only thing I will say is the finish is not as great as it could be. It's my nightstand gun and I'd trust it with my life :D

I got an RIA officers about a month back, it Instantly became my carry gun. No one complaint at all, but much praise to be given to RIA

The finish is average at best, it got marked up from my holster so I decided to duracoat it which gave it a different look yet one that will take some beating

but for the price point of a 1911 its one meant to be used and it will work reliable and efficiently every single time.

Just take your time and learn how to shoot and care for it. Spend your money on good ammo and good mags. The best mags I've used are Wilson's.

I also use 7rnd PSI/Act Mags(in my ATI) because they came with it. There has been some bad talk about the older ACT Mags, but I think the newer ones with the 2-stage springs are OK(hope so cause I've got a few).
    Have fun!

Mine has never let me down. It has proven itself enough. Even with my abuse, it still survives.
