What do you guys think of the XCR? I think that ergonomically it's one of the most efficient and reliable systems on the market. It really combines the best of both worlds, and boasts the fastest reload of any firearm, according to them. I'm guessing that it will cycle anything you feed it no problem, and that 3-lug bolt ain't gonna break any time soon! I would prefer mine in 6.8 SPC, since it's got better ballistics than 5.56 or 7.62 commie. But what do YOU guys think? Possible purchase, so I need more info. Thanks.

The XCR is a awesome rifle. there is a rumor that they are going to make a XCR medium for bigger rounds haven't heard any news lately but i am hoping. one thing that i do not like is that it has absolutely no sights to start with.

Another piston gun. Nothing a standard ar15 doesnt do better and lighter.

Great rifle. Only problem I've ever had with mine was shooting Wolf ammo with the gas setting too low. Reset made the problem go away. The internals are a little more robust than the AR's. Very reliable and easy to keep clean. Accuracy is very good as are the ergonomics. It is a little heavy, but you put a Quad rail, grips,laser/light, etc. on a standard M4 and the weight jumps appreciably. All in all it is an excellent weapon. As to whether it is better than an AR, I think its design is more robust. Accuracy and ergonomics are about even. Durability goes to the XCR. Ease of maintenence goes to XCR. Don't get me wrong I like my AR and shoot it often, but IMHO the XCR is a better weapon.

Truly excellent rifle. But given a choice, I'd prefer an M-4.

I just can't see the need for the additional weight and complexity of a piston.

But if you're comfortable with it, I say go for it. :):)
