Picked one up tonight but due to IL 3 day waiting period I won't get it until Friday. It is a standard GI model stripped down to basics but has a great feeling trigger and good looking grips. Nothing fancy but at $428 OTD I couldn't pass. A 9mm 1911 has been on my want list.

I'll try to get it to the range this weekend and put up a range report.

I bought one about a year ago, great gun. the only jam I've had is a FTF from an aftermarket 10 round mag.

you will run into naysayers belching that "if it isn't a .45 it isn't a real 1911" crap. let them shoot the gun & it will shut them up fast.

i agree! the caliber is less important to me. the 45 is the original caliber for sure, but not the only one that even Colt offered it in over the years.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my RIA tactical 9, it luvs steel case WPA/Wolf ammo.

Doc, for about 9 C notes you can get a Colt Talo 9mm GI style.

Picking up a sa range officer in 9mm for the wife around noonish today during lunch.

Traded off a older 1911 for it. I dont shoot full size 1911's much so it was no real loss to make a nice surprise for the wife.

You got a nice gun. Very reliable and a soft shooter. My tac has been a very fun gun to shoot. 1,000 rds or so and no burps of any kind. Won't shoot with .38 super mags though.

not for sure if MetroArms offers one in 9mm. i'll have to check. the MetroArms 1911's are great pistols. i am on my second one, a Commander sized one that i absolutely love. great pistol and pretty danged accurate and reliable.

MetroArms makes a great pistol at a very decent price. along with the RIA's, i highly recommend them. the only thing budget about them is the price. very well made pistols. the first picture is my current MA Commander, and the second was the first MA Government model i bought.

Qwiksdraw thats a nice set of Camo Grips there! Trying to get a Car cover like that for the Escape, but the boss wants regular desert or Desert Tiger Strip,..not the Digital. When I wore a uniform we didn't even have Digital Camo patterns...
