Solider or not a funeral is never a time that should be picked for a protest. It's nice to see that good, right thinking ppl are prepared to stand together against these fanatics ("A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject"--Winston Churchill)

Sometimes I believe too much is allowed in the name of 'freedom of speech', did you know it is not longer a crime to burn the American flag, now in case you don't know I am only new to this country being originally from Dublin, Ireland but even I think that is wrong. Nebraska tried to bring one of the members of the Westboro church up on charges for the same carry on but due to these changes were unable to make anything stick.

Anyhow, an argument for another thread there I think....for now though my condolences to the family and their loss.

You would think that you could inter a fallen soldier without crap from some really messed up zealots. Mad respect for the people that stood up to this tool group. I don't even want to imagine that bad karma those a$$hats are building up.

    Phelps; stay home

Their are several articles going around. A sicking moment; when you are laying to rest a loved one.
I admire this community; and those from far away; ''picketing'' 'Phelp's mob of misguided souls.
At any level; this is sad.

There are still some Americans who know right from wrong and who have the courage to stand up for it.

Glad to see that America just may be waking up and getting tired of being bullied around by these a$$holes!!

Actually, the proper way to dispose of an "unservicable" flag is to burn it with a ceremony. Boy scout troops will carry out this service on occasion. Bear in mind this is only for soiled and tattered flags.

USSSP: Ceremonies - Flag Retiring 2

The military actually has the rules/procedure to do this as well. I personally don't burn them. I just can't bring myself to do it.

Aye, be that as it may but I'm not talking about that, you referring to a ceremony with respect and care given to the item in question....I'm talking about an a-hole with a box of matches - here's link to the story Woman challenges Neb. flag law - Omaha.com ....hell I'm not even American and that makes my blood boil

I love it when these idiots get beaten at their own game. Old video with some NSFW language, if this is inappropriate for an open forum please take it down mods.
