Having trouble finding a buffer retainer spring and pivot detent spring. Are these only gunsmith parts or are they available at any retail (hardware, automotive, etc) stores

    Try these guys: Apex.

I lost one of the dammit springs in my AR, they not only had them, they had a variety of them, including OEM.

Prices are good, service is excellent.

Almost anywhere that sells AR-15's, sells commonly needed parts for them.

Brownells.com and MidawayUSA.com have every part for an AR-15, and there are plenty more parts sellers on the Internets.

Guess I should have noted. Does anyone know where they may be IN STOCK. I'll check those mentioned

Try AR Depot. I just got some small parts from them.

    No luck online
I did find a Buffer retention spring locally. I took it to local hardware store and matched it, bought 10 they had for .54 each. Found out that breakdown detent spring is same as a cheap zippo style lighter under the flint. I had a junk one laying around. thought I would pass that on.
