Although I've done many a restoration/refinishing project, I've yet to do a Remy 1100. What is the best finishing product to use to get the high gloss durable finish that comes on the 1100/870's from the factory?? I'm thinking poly but not 100% on this.

Please advise and thanks in advance...

No advice at all? Cmon guys I know thre are many resto people in here =) BTW if it helps at all, most if not all of the work I'e done on wood has been with hand rubbed finishes not glossy work and this is the reason for my question..

When I want a high gloss finish I lean to the polyurethane. I'm sure many will disagree with this but I've had excellent results. WhenI have done this I have found sprays are horrible compared to a brush on method.

Yes, I have done a few with polyurethane with excellent results also, but I use a spray gun to apply the finish.

I've been happy with Tru-Oil. Steel wool between coats with a final coat or two of beeswax.

Thanks guys... I've also leaned toward the spraying on of the poly.. I also like the Tru-Oil suggestion. I used that on an A5 Browning and it came out very nice.

Most of the factory high gloss finishes are sprayed on poly.
