Remington 700 30-06 anyone know how i can date this beauty??

    as long as the barrel is original to the reciever yes you can by the date code.

    go to www.remingtonsociety.com and look through the date codes. the date code should be on the left side of the barrel close to the reciever.

    I cant really tell the year, if a mod could move this to rifle section, then you'll get more answers.

    Moved you over to rifles- and Axxe nailed it- Remington used a barrel code (2-3 LETTERS) to tell month and year of manufacture.

    Can`t be very old, they only started building the 700`s in the early 60`s.............

    NO! because more than likely it's a M770, not a M700. they are completely different rifles. the M700 is an excellent rifle platform, and the M770 is junk. heavy and gritty trigger, flimsy stock, rough feeding bolt that also binds and a pressed in barrel assembly. very cheaply made.
