Any body have any good ideas to upgrade the Remington 1911. It's my first 1911 and has taken the spot of "my baby" in the safe. I would like a new trigger for a smoother break. Any other ideas out there?

Throw an ambi saftey on it, extend the slide release, throw a back housing magwell combo on it, get some finger grove grips or wilson combat, skelentonize the trigger and hammer, and throw a drop in bush compensator(use wilson combat pieces). What coller and cailiber it it

Are all of these parts Wilson combat and fairly easy to install? I have always been that guy who can make it from scratch but not fix it.

Yes they are all WC and none of these mods require gunsmithing

The trigger has little to do with the break. It's the hammer and it's interface with the sear.

How many rounds have you put through the R1?

I have put just under 1000 through the muzzle but that will change tomorrow. The main thing I want is to get a little smoother break and just a touch lighter pull. Don't get me wrong, I like the way it feels now. Just looking to improve. If I need to put a few more 1000 rounds through it and then see, so be it.

Also, how does the brand of ammo matter? Not trying to be a smarta$$ just curious for the knowledge.

White box of winchester is better quality and cost more than the ****y red and green box of remington. In texas a 50 of winchester 45acp fmj runs about 23 bucks. The remington same type of 100 runs 32, and ive had those fail 4 time in one box. id buy in bulk but I only trust whote box winchester. Havent had one fail in 500 rounds
