Hi all, I was considering buying a glock 23 gen 4 I was wondering can you use reloads in the Glock? Heard a lot about the Glock kaboom, the not fully supported chamber. Simply can you use reloads safely in a glock 23 gen 4 40 S&W

Glock says no, People say yes, Some have problems, some don't.

Pick your position and live with the consequences.

I don't personally use Glocks but the above seems to be the standard.

Also I've heard aftermarket barrels are necessary for shooting at least lead.

Back when I used to have a G19 that I shot the crap out of some reloaded plated (not jacketed) ammo that was made pretty hot. Truth be told the thing seemed to love the ammo as it never shot anything better than this particular combo.

Glock says no to hand loads and lead. If you want the warranty to work I'd say don't do it. But people do and it seems to be OK for the most part. I don't advise using lead in the OEM barrels though. The plated stuff seemed to work well but I did put a Basrstow bbl in mine before too long just to insure my not have any troubles.
