I currently reload shotgun shells, have been doing so for about 8 years. I shoot and reload roughly 200 rounds a week. I am currently looking to venture into reloading .40 s&w for my handguns.

Have a few questions. What is the average cost of startup to start reloading handgun ammo. What is a average break even point in rounds to add up to the initial cost of the equipment and materials? I currently have the ability to get brass casings by the dozens free almost weekly. Thinking that with this opportunity I should capitalize on it, just looking for some initial information.

    Thanks

Go to Shop Shooting Supplies | Reloading | Gunsmithing | Hunting gear — MidwayUSA and look up all the stuff you need to get started. Then look at the price that a box of shells from wal-mart runs, they are the cheapest around for federal ammo. Then simply do the math. I have done the math on the equipment I already own and I cant really re-load as cheap as I can buy right now.
