Last night downloaded via itunes the digital version. The movie hits the street on DVD and Blu-Ray on the 5th March.

I saw it. Like most remakes if you compare it to the original you will be disappointed. Judge is as a stand alone movie and I think it was pretty good. I have run in to a number of people under the age of 30 who have never even heard of Red Dawn. I am pretty sure this movie was made for them, not for those of us who know that the original is a pure classic.

Looks like a POS. One does not simply "remake" the original Red Dawn. I've probably watched that movie 50 times

I like both (Original and Remake). The remake has that specific sound of casings hitting the ground.

I've seen both and they were both really good movies I agree that you can't remake a classic but if you keep an open mind they're both good movies

Here's the problem with Red Dawn versus the remake.

In the original Red Dawn, all of the protagonists are just ordinary Americans who become partisans.

In the remake, notice how they are led by a Marine who has come home and the father is a police officer.

In other words, modern Hollywood cannot wrap its head around the thought of "ordinary" people becoming heroes. Our new heroes have to be government trained.

Whatever happened to the Campbellian Journey?

Anything right now that might very well AWAKEN the younger generation to a real possibility meets with my approval.
Usually, I am a tough movie critic on today's films, writers, and directors. But, Red Dawn, needs to be shown.
