Looking for high quality low weight...I've heard eotech is the lightest weight I'm going to find, but I'd like to avoid the $890 price tag of possible. Going on an FN FiveseveN with a rail system I have attached to the bottom and reaches around to the top. The pistol is top heavy being that 98% of the steel used to build it is above the thumb...hence my wantinf as lightweight as possible.

890 for an EOTech? Newsgroup, I thought the 400$ ones were expensive. I've seen them on the popular gun sites for about 400-500$. I'm not sure about the weight of it, but the sightmark ultra shot is about 120$ new. Virtually the same thing as EOTech. Looks and all. You could look into that. Or eBay is always an option. Haha.

If you want a true holographic EOTech is the only way to go. The XPS2 is probably your best bet @ 8 oz and is around $450.
Have you considered a higher end reflex like the Leupold Deltapoint @ 6 oz.
Burris Fastfire is ok and about 9 oz.

 not even close to the same.

I was kinda tunnel visioned on holographic sights...never really considered reflex sights. That Leupold sounds light as hell though, I may broaden my view.

Well I did look at all the brands like Sightmark, and all the reviews end the same way- bad. I could try eBay, just never trusted online marketplaces, too many bad experiences in the past. I reeeeally want an EOTech lol but whatever I end up with, the price needs to be respective of the true quality/weight.

I have a Eotech XPS3-0 and it is great. Have you looked into a Trijicon RMR?

Awesome...I had a friend from my platoon suggest something like "Sight Doctor"? Anybody know what that is? He said he had one from them on his .45

    Have you looked at Cmore?
C-MORE Systems - Red Dot Sights
I stuck a polymer railway on my S&W. It works well and the price didn't sting too much either. Also fairly light @ 5 oz.
I previously a had a Burris Fast Fire 2 on it, but I found it too small and hard to pick up quickly. Good optic but it will work better on my carbine.

AWESOME, I couldn't tell if it was the kind he had, his allowed it to be put on in place of the rear sights rather than using my aftermarket rail system... but that looks close to it and that is just the right price!!!

Funny every one that I know who owns a sightmark says it is a good optic. Yeah you are not going to jump out of a helicopter and let it hit hard Abe still work like a eotech but it will take a ok beating and still hold zero. Every negative thing I have read on sightmark is about their night vision capable holographic one. I know guys that own both and they said they will save the money and get another sightmark. But to some they think it is all about the big name.

I will be putting a sightmark on my AR. Heck I have another cheap brand on my 308 and it works great.

Trijicon or EOtech. For a handgun, I'd give the Trijicon a slight edge, but both will serve you well.:)
