I took the adjustable rear sight off of my Ruger 22/45 and put on a standard dovetail fixed sight,it just taps into place tightly with no screw to tighten it into the dovetail or anything. My problem is that while it is pretty tight,it seems to slide slightly to the left or right after a couple of hundred rounds or so.What can I do to fix this problem?

I am really new to firearms, but it seems to me that a tiny dab of locktight might help. I will use a dab of locktight on the points on my 1965 VW Bug. It works on my son's '69 Bug as well

I'm no gunsmith, but I would get a Sharp, hard punch, and tap with a hammer on the dovetail flat of the sight. This creates a crater, which pushes the material up higher around it, which should tighten up the gap. Go small taps in several places, until you can barely feel the bump. If it isn't enough, remove the sight and use more force.
