We often hear about this or that person being a "hero". It's often not true.

This is what a real hero(oes) looks like:

I know the Elk River. It is no puddle. It is frigid cold with a strong current. The rescuer and his girlfriend laid it on the line for a family of strangers.

It tears me up that they will blame themselves for not rescuing the mother, too. I know they will. That's how heroes think.

    God bless.

All we can do is pray that the heroes find sleep and peace with themselves. The fact that a doctor was on the scene will help them understand they did all they could. The doctor has lost someone he was trying to save before. The Dr might help them understand that your best is all you can give.
