I have the chance to pick up a Gen 3 Glock 23, 2 (10 rd.) mags, and about 50 rds of ammo (some FMJs and some HPs) for $435.00.

The gun is in as-new condition. Almost never fired. It belongs to a good friend who is utterly meticulous about how he cares for his guns.

What do you think? Good deal or pass?

Make the deal before the friend wakes up.

Pretty good deal! I would take it. It's not a crazy good deal, but in today's economy it's not bad!

Not too bad. Here, a new gen 3 would cost $479+tax, with 2 (13 rnd?) mags. So youre looking at a decent savings.

    Just picked up this G23.

Ended up being a bit sweeter deal than I had expected. With the gun and magazines my buddy included 30 rds of basic 180 gr. FMJs plus one box (20 rds) each of 180 gr. Hornady TAP FPDs and 165 gr. Speer Gold Dots.

Stopped by a couple of stores (Sportsman's Warehouse and Walmart) and both had a small supply of ammo available. So, between the two places I was able to pick up another 200 rounds.

Things aren't back to normal by any means (still no 22LR) but, the situation does seem to be improving.

That's about 100 to 125 off of what I've seen it new!! So it's a fair price!! Considering you know it's been loved-:)! I'm not that crazy about buying used from Strangers(gun stores) but a friend is cool!! Enjoy!!
