Anybody know or have a ranger 101/16 22 rifle?
That should be a Marlin 80...so if you ever need any parts, look up the 80 parts listings
Numrich for some reason has it listed as a Marlin 90...which is wrong, because the Marlin 90 was an over/under drilling .22lr on top, .410 on bottom
Anything else ya wanna know?
I was wondering if anyone had any idea if it is a good gun. What I found online is that it has a pretty good accuracy. Just wondering if someone knew first hand.
Tons of folks...the 80 sold really well, and still sells well as a used rifle these days
It was the basis for the 780, then 880 & 980 series...so it would be the Great, Great Grandfather of the XT-22!
Marlin always made great barrels...they might have actions/triggers like a Sherman Tank (rough & clunky) but they last forever!
and the rough can be resolved with a little valve-lapping compound & a few hours sitting on the couch working the bolt & trigger
Altho most 80-series have been so well-used and polished by this point, they're usually pretty smooth after a good cleaning.
