Range Day Yesterday
It was nice enough yesterday that I thought I would head to the range. I thought I would take my Taurus since it had been over a year since I shot it the last time. So I packed up my range bag and about 300 rounds and headed to the range.
I was shooting next to a guy that had a gorgeous Sig 1911 Traditional Match Elite. He was wearing a Larue Tactical hat and was wearing a really nice set of Walker's Game Ear electronic ear muffs. But when we started shooting, my old Taurus was just center punching the bulls at 15 yards offhand. The guy next to me was shooting shotgun patterns with his $1000 Sig. I caught him eyeing my Taurus on more than one occasion, but I never told him it was just a $600 pistol that was outshooting his Sig. Just didn't have the heart. I had a great time shooting and it was even better because I was shooting personally good also.
But I think the best part of the day was that the range was just LITTERED with brass that nobody wanted to pick up. I spent as much time or more picking up brass than I did shooting. I brought home as much brass as I could fit in my bag! All in all, it was a very good day!
