I donate mine to the local shop too. It'll ride fine w.o. being sealed up.
I went to the LGS, and found a box of 90gr .277 Sierra Varmint bullets on the shelf. They were discontinued some time last year. I was pretty happy when the cashier took my money.
I reported there 2 years ahead of you.
To you and Oldoutlaw- thank you!
Why cant I find this place on a map?
Sandblasted the rust off of two of the guns today, I'll redo the stocks when I have time. That little Winchester single barrel 20 will be a fun gun to mess around with, and the Anschutz bore looks nice and bright. The only issue I'm having with it is the fact that its loose fitting in the stock, and also that its missing a magazine.
I'm wondering if I should cold blue them myself or have a professional hot blue them all.
I would do a lot more research on that Anschutz first. Some are/were pretty high end rifles.
My furry little boy is one today. Happy Birthday, Percival.
This cat is so much fun to have around the house. We’ve had him about 6 months now.
Outlaw is right. Check out the model number. The stock can be glass bedded. The gun is worth the expense. Mags should be readily available. The other guns might do well with Cerakote.
After a little research it looks like this was anschutz attempt at a budget rifle, still pretty cool, cant seem to find a magazine anywhere.
Sooo, what model is it that you have?
Model is 1450
Well there... I did it... Since everybody else wants stupid amounts for their Scouts, I listed my 62.. $5,500 bucks. I figure I can put that towards another project.... I have a '73 long bed pickup was thinking of having the engine rebuilt in.... I need a real truck - This 4Runner thing I have isnt "doing it" for me...
Id keep the little scout but goes like 50 mph and takes a foot ball field to stop... It must of been quite different driving back then.... (I cant wait to drive my '40 )
Anschutz 1420-U13 (10 round) 1420-U5 (5 round) is 'supposed' to fit all their 22lr rifles.
The Wisner-Savage magazines are supposed to work but may require some fitting. 5 round less work than 10 round. It is a gamble.
Maybe you are Ancient Outlaw masquerading as Old Outlaw?
look in the gunsmith section for a stickie list of sources for parts.
I leave for my 3 day squirrel hunt/hike/camping trip tomorrow, I hope I have everything I need. I think I'm just gonna take a 20 gauge to keep weight down.
l ordered a used Barska scope from Amazon and received a brand new scope in a box that had been opened. Yay!
That's happened to me a few times with Amazon. I got an opened Roomba for about $80, it's brand new.
