I was scrolling through the news when it caught my eye. At first I thought it was warning about rouge Sock Monkies!

Struggling with the same thing with our 15 year old dog. Days and nights mixed up, gets us up in the middle of the night to go out, and often wants to be fed (at 3 AM? Really?) Hard to get back to sleep after that. She sometimes barks for no apparent reason. But we've had many years of joy with her, so this is what you have to put up with.

Yes, ours gives this two bark ‘yap yap’ even when no one is near her she walks aimlessly a lot, too. Take your dog to the vet. There are things they can give the dog to help them be a little more cognitive. We’re trying something now. Let’s see if it helps. We’re keeping a close eye on her quality of life.

The most-loved dog I had was a Jack Russell named Maggie.. She descended into dementia in her old age. Turned out it was associated with cancer. Absolutely broke my heart.

How did you find out she had cancer. I wonder about that. I don’t want my dog in pain.

Unfortunately, only after the vet did an autopsy. Her insides were all eaten up with it. I think she was in pain for a while and I should have had her put asleep before I did. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I wish I had been stronger. It wasn't fair to her.

Sometimes it seems we get more concerned about our own feelings..... at the expense of our animals.

When I was young and we had outside dogs that had gotten old and arthritic they would just disappear. We found one that had made his "cave" in the bank of a little creek not far from the house. He dug it out, curled up inside and just "went to sleep," I suppose.

Okay. Today I drove to a few places. Got in and out of the car a few times. Hobbled around a few stores. So here it is, 1718 and I’m done for the day. My foot is SCREAMING.

When it starts hurting, you could always get a electric card. No pun intended. Just saying, because that looks like it hurts..

If it's a "good" scream, it's OK. If you pushed it too hard....you should be more careful! :)

I rode an electric cart for a while. Used a shopping cart as a walker to get from the car to the electric cart more than a few times. Take care of yourself best you can! People were always very nice to me when I was using an electric cart. Offered to reach stuff for me, etc.

I saw a late eighties agua blue firebird for sale the other day. I'm not sure what engine it had.

My sister picked up free Maytag dryer for me this week. It was in an outbuilding so it was pretty dirty on the outside and inside the control panel, vents and such. Just spent about 45 minutes cleaning it. As soon as I get some strength back I'll finish the hookup. That should be the easy part.:D
