Quick price question

Was out at the shop today and saw a used Sig GSR 1911for 699, comes with the case, 2 mags, and assorted paperwork. Seemed like a good deal to me, any input? Am I an idiot for not grabbing it up?

Thanks for your input

Joel,

How used?

Any significant mods to the gun? (Still in warranty)

Does the Sig warranty carry over to the second owner?

Have you shot it?

Does the 'shop' stand behind the gun? (Moot if still in warranty)

Do you know the original owner? And why did he sell/trade it to the 'shop'?

Can you talk to the owner?

Enough questions?

This is what I would look for.

If the GSR is in VERY good condition, and everything does what it's supposed to do, I would say that is a decent price.

I would haggle the dealer, though. You may save a little more money. I will bet that the dealer bought this from someone really cheap, and is making a decent profit from it.
plus 1 on cane's questions, those are some I would be asking as well.

That is a very good price of the weapon if nearly new. If the weapon has been shot out and/or carried quite a bit, I might look for a better price.

On the surface, I would say get back there tomorrow and cash it out if you can.

If the weapon shows wear and tear, I would keep shopping or talk them down to a better price.

Joel,

How used?

I'm new to shooting, so I really couldn't answer the question. Didn't seem to be any wear that I could see externally

Any significant mods to the gun? (Still in warranty)

If there were, they didn't tell me

Does the Sig warranty carry over to the second owner?

It becomes a 1-yr craftsmanship warranty

Have you shot it?

No, they don't have a range at Cabellas (where I found the weapon)

Does the 'shop' stand behind the gun? (Moot if still in warranty)

30 day return policy if it's defective, otherwise no

Do you know the original owner? And why did he sell/trade it to the 'shop'?

Couldn't talk to him

Can you talk to the owner?

No =P

Enough questions?

As long as a decent answer comes out eventually, I'll answer all the q's I need to :)

This is what I would look for.
Thanks for all the input everyone. There's a gun show in town in a couple weeks, I think I may just hold out for that

Thanks!
