Why is there no .22 magnum conversion kit or pistol for a 1911?

I think it because it is to long to cycle properly.

I have a Kimber conversion slide and I was just looking at the magazines. It seemed that there was enough room but I didn't mic it. It would be an awesome pistol though!

I tried fitting the 22mag in my mag and was not enough room and it would be at a weird angle. The travel of the slide needed to eject would lead to it being a jam a matic. If it were possible somebody would of done it. You would have to make a 1911 style specific for 22 mag only.

:p 'Gello- pay attention now, and keep up with the rest of us-

The question was about a CONVERSION kit to permit a 1911A1 to shoot .22 WMR.

    .22 LR= 1.000 inch
    .45 ACP= 1.275 inches
    .22 WMR= 1.350 inches

AMT (Arcadia Machine and Tool) 22 Mag Not a true 1911 but close.

Well I stand corrected. High Standard is now manufacturing the AMT in 22 WMR
