I don't want this to come across the wrong way, so don't take it for anything it's not.... I am simply curious.

There are many people who have recently paid an astronomical price for a machine gun, some of which I am sure have it financed.

What would be your reaction if say the next president made changes allowing machine guns? I know this is a far fetched scenario, but you never know.

I just could not imagine how I would feel if I bought a $20,000 AK-47 a month ago and now I can buy a brand new one for $1000, especially if I had to make payments on it for the next 3 years.

Also, would this be a deciding factor in who you voted for? It's almost like a conflict between our gun rights and your property value.

Thoughts?

86 New MG Mfg Ban

No new President could do it.....the Congress would have to.

If you could convince Charles Schummer and Co to do so....they would ammend the 1934 $ 200 tax stamp to around $ 1,000 in new tax to make it worthwhile in democrat think.....and use it for healthcare for the "Children"

I understand it has a slim likelihood of happening, but this is a what if question.

If a Ross Paul character was some how able to modify the current law to allow machine guns manufactured up to 2000 to be classified as transferable, it would most likely turn into a buyers market for machine guns.

If you knew this was his goal, would you vote for him knowing you had 20K wrapped up in an '80 AK?

I am sure most of you feel the same way though, of course you would vote for him because then you could complete your collection for a fraction of the cost.

Too bad Ron Perot does not exist!!

I paid cash....

My policy is that you cannot really enjoy it if you have to make payments long after the wow factor of ownership has come and gone.

This is something you should not go into debt for.

I plan on getting two more but will NEVER get a loan!! Save, save, save!!! and then buy followed by shoot, shoot, shoot!!!

The two prior bans will never go away..... If they did I would care less and just be happy I could get some of the newer post-ban models I cannot ever own.

I paid cash for mine also and many dealers won't except credit at least in my area. As far as the ban being overturned, it's never going to happen. It would be more likely to outlaw them entirely and not allow private ownership which of course would result in an increase in burglary reports.

With all the gun control talk that is being done.... they will NEVER.. I repeat.. "NEVER" repeal the restrictions on machine guns.

So if you are holding off to buy till they do... keep waiting and I will keep enjoying mine!
