I havce been hearing people say that there is a double stack mag out for the SA 1911 A1... Is the double stack mag able to go into the 1911 A1 or do you have to buy a 1911 A1 that takes the double stack mag...

Physics being what it is, you have to buy a double stack pistol...

the para ordanance pistols are what your thinking about. doublestacks will not fit in a standard 1911. used to have a Para P10 way back was a nice ccw piece, but then im a big boy and can hide teh bloated grip pretty well.

there are 10 round mags you can get. i think mccormick makes one type but they stick out the bottom of the frame a bit. i do have a 20 round magazine that hangs out the bottom of the gun like a SMG mag heh. fun toy at the range. that mag likes to jam up in the column with the spring getting stuck but its fun when it works.

the majority of the magazines i have are from SA or are from WW2 vietnam and korea era. my commander in the army gave me a mixed box of 50 of em out of our armory when we switched from the god given 1911 to that shtfkd berreta crap. they were just gonna toss em so i asked and got em for free.

(dont get me started on what i think of that gdmn berreta 92...)
